This is a mockup for a customized template for the Clip-Share media sharing application. It’s still in the development stage, but features include a wide screen featured video player with thumbnail scroller selector, two smaller featured video players for items such as Latest Video and Most Popular and a jquery login slider.

Wordpress Plugin – Create Posts from RSS Feed

I have modded the extremely handy Wordpress RSS Digest plugin that was developed by Sam Charrington. The original RSS Digest plugin was designed to create a “digest” post from a select number of items from any RSS feed automatically. I made a few changes so that instead of generating one post containing all the RSS items returned, it instead now creates a new post for each item returned.

It’s a quick and simple way to populate your blog with numerous posts. It can be used to fill in new related content while you work on your featured articles. I am currently working the kinks out of having the plugin handle multiple feed sources. It currently can handle two distinct feeds with each installation.

*Update: The plugin worked out so well that I have created a virtually maintenance-free website out of it. Check out Hollyweirdo.com to see it in action.

Mootools Slide Log In Form

I’ve been poking around the mootools site wondering how I can use their collection of nifty javascript tricks on any of my sites and I finally settled on using their slide transition effect to add a little fun to a simple log-in form.

There’s nothing too tricky here, as I simply lifted the code from their demo page and added it to my site. The only tweak I gave it was to start the div out hidden, making the user click the link to show the form. To do this, simply add “.hide()” to the end of var mySlide = new Fx.Slide(’test’); line so it should look like this:

var mySlide = new Fx.Slide(’test’).hide();

Hope I didn’t lose you there. I know it’s complicated.

I realize this adds little to nothing to the functionality of the site, but it sure is fun! You can check out an example here.

3MOON Couture is a private fashion design company that created the 3MOON nursing cover for breastfeeding moms. They are a young, hip, fashion-forward company marketing towards stylish mothers. KTStudios developed and maintains their online store.

This project was built around the Shopify e-commerce solution. It integrates some Flash in the intro splash page as well as their promo video and the rest of the site is HTML, CSS and Shopify’s integrated technologies – Vision & Liquid.

Activision Broadcast Media Center

This website is one of two parts that I built for US Newsgroup (the other being USPS).

These sites were built to handle all corporate media communications for these companies. This includes streaming videos as well as maintaining client access to download videos, images and documents. These sites were built upon the Clip-Share framework but were heavily modified both in regards to the templates as well as the underlying PHP and MySQL coding. I added functionality to manage the media available to each published project. This allows the administrator to upload and attach various files to each project which would then be available to download by visiting clients.

USPS Broadcast Media Center

This is the partner site to the Activision Broadcast Media Center for US Newsgroup. These are corporate sites developed to handle all media-relations for the USPS (and Activision). The site administrator has the ability to upload and convert streaming video as well as the ability to upload other video, image and document files. These files are then made available to various industry outlets for use in promotional materials and news releases.
