Remember the Milk is a web-based app that allows you to set up and manage tasks to help you with time-management.
Remember the Milk is promoting the GTD system described by David Allen. GTD is short for Getting Things Done. It’s time management system that helps you organize and complete all the tasks that bog down your day by following a routine of Collect, Process, Organize, Review, and Do. With Remember the Milk, you can create and track multiple tasks and there is a wealth of integration tools to help you tie in things like your smart phone so that you can be alerted when you are falling behind (ha ha!).
There is a desktop app that automatically syncs with yoru web account so that you can work on Remember the Milk when offline. Everything is stored online, so you can track your tasks from anywhere with internet access.
It’s a pretty cool concept that is unfortunately marred by a few irritating quirks. For one, creating a list is a bit more of a hassle than it really should be. Instead of a quick and easy click, which would mimic how quickly a person would jot down a task with pen and stickit note, you have to go through system settings to create a new entry. Kind of a bother. Also, the notes section is completely inadequate. You can only add a small note to each task. These issues may annoy me more than you, so don’t let me stop you from trying out Remember The Milk. Like all great web apps – signup is completely free!
